Where are the Indians?
Today I came across an article which has left me, well appalled. Yes, we know this happens all around us but it still appalls me!!
Original Article: Appalling Indian Attitude
“Be the change you want to be” – The much “clichéd” slogan of the change! I want to change for the better, but where do I go? Or rather how do I go about it?
I moved to Bangalore 5 years ago and its been pretty much a good move barring a few glitches. One of the things that I find here (this is not just restricted to Bangalore, but all over India) and this irritates me the most is when people find that you don’t know Kannada, they just take your trip. This I have found to be a common occurrence if you do not know the other person. These people that I have had my differences with know that they are bloody wrong, but they will hide behind a language to get out the situation. They will go all gung-ho about multiple things of which I do not comprehend much due to the lack of my knowledge of the language!
Such is the story all over the country. Who are we? We are branded by religion, region or language and that who you become.
There are no Indians in India. They’ve vanished. We are Gujarati, Tamil, Kannadiga, Keralite, Bengali, Assamese, Manipuri and the list just goes on and on!!! Or to broadly categorize it, there are North Indians, South Indians and East Indians. I repeat, there are “No Indians in India”.
