Next gen chargers :-)
I was going to drop my friend home and we dropped in at his friend’s house to pay him a visit. They were talking and it so happenned that my friend saw his Motorola V3 Razor. A perfect example of best engineering not being supported by equally good software!!! The phone is a beauty, but the software on it is crappy. In the owner’s words “All the most needed functions are crappy, the rest is great!!”.
Anyways, he showed his charger for the phone. Guess what, it doubles as an AC adapter and a USB charger. Now that is neat!! Imagine you are travelling and your battery runs out and you have to make that call. If you have a laptop, not to worry. Boot up your laptop, connect the charger to the usb port and charge it (But what happens if your laptop isnt charged enough!!!). According to him, it takes a couple of hours to fully charge the phone. Neat, ain’t it!!!
I came across an article somewhere which said that two engineers have made a charger, which while charging your phone, aslo backs up your data on itself. So that if you were to lose your phone, your data (phone book atleast) is there on your charger. Now that is good use of engineering, I would say.
